Main Application
Battery grade 1,3-PS, a sulfur based additive, is mainly used as an electrolyte additive for lithium-ion secondary batteries, which plays a good role for graphitic anode protection by supporting the formation of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI). In combination with propylene carbonate (PC) or other organic carbonate solvents, PS inhibits gas formation after cycling at higher temperatures. Plus, the combination of PS and vinylene carbonate (VC) provides better performance and reducing gas formation during cycling, further improving the cyclability of the batteries at elevated temperature.
